The 501st Legion is a Star Wars costuming club that specializes in doing volunteer work for community, social, and charity events around the world while dressed in screen-accurate costumes.  Basically, we use our love for Star Wars to make the world a better place - and we have some fun while we’re at it!

Ok, I’d just like to point out the fact that I WAS AT THE TROY DENNING BOOK SIGNING ON MAY 18! My friend and I even got to ask him a few questions. He’s awesome!! I love him to pieces, and having you 501st guys there was great! I even remember the one clone trooper that was there that day, I asked him if he was one of Skirata’s clones or not.

One of my goals is to join one day, but first I’m trying to finish up my Mandalorian armor before I start saving up to buy trooper armor that’s decent enough that I can join.

Haha, the clone was Frank - he runs the Empire City Garrison website.

I’m pretty sure you could enter the 501st with Mandalorian amor, though I expect they’d be really anal about quality/accuracy… Stormtrooper is easier.

I recall there was a chick at the Karen Travis signing there was a chick in some sweet-looking Mando armor…Boba Fett’s granddaught Mirta, methinks, the gray armor.

Anyways, small world. Kinda freaky, eh? But neat, too.

I wouldn’t mind getting in with my Mando armor, but it’s not quite up to the standards I’d like to have it at yet, plus stormtrooper armor is just way cooler. Only reason I started the Mando armor first was because I found some armor plates at a cheap enough price that I could afford it. I’d definitely prefer to get some awesome trooper armor, though.

I found out about the Karen Traviss signing the day of it and didn’t have time to get train tickets to head into the city. I was pretty sad. That’s cool about the Mando there. :]

I’m so used to the fact that none of my friends enjoy Star Wars the way that I do that’s it’s always funny to come across a fan who lives in the same state, much less has been to the same Star Wars functions I have. Very cool!
